News 

1-2-2012- Rescue and Medic 89 dispatched to N-71 @ Stewart Rd. for MVA with a truck on it's top. This was during early morning snow fall. Units on scene with truck on it's top into a guard rail with the occupant out walking around. Units responded to subsequent MVA's both North and South bound in the area of the Stewart Rd. overpass.

12-26-11- 1 alarm fire was dispatched to 4102 South Ave. in Silverton for structure fire with subject burned. E89 on scene with heavy smoke showing from a 4 unit apartment. Burn victim was rescued by person walking by who spotted the fire and called 911. E89 pulled 2'' line to buildings front door as the fire apartment flashed and was fully involved at this point. 3'' supply was secured and second 2'' line pulled for protection. 12-18-11- E89 was dispatched with 1 alarm companies into Madeira for structure with possible entrapment. Caller stated that homeowner might have went back into the home to look for his kids. E89 and 8901 first on scene with heavy fire from the basement in the rear of the structure, and report that everyone was out. Crew was able to make entry into basement through walkout patio door.

11-26-10- 1 alarm fire was dispatched to Elwynne Dr. in Silverton for smoke and fire coming from the roof of a house. E89 on scene reported heavy fire through the roof. Main body of fire was in the knee wall attic area of the second floor.

10-28-10- Rescue and Medic 89 along with Car 8903 responded for MVA with injuries. Found 2 vehicle MVA one with heavy damage. Transported the driver out of the car to hospital.

10-9-10- 1 alarm fire was dispatched to Plainfield Rd. E89 on scene entered apartment building to find smoke coming from apartment 10. 2" line was pulled and fire was found in kitchen, mainly on counter.

9-14-10- E89, L89 and 8901 responded M/A into Golf Manor for fire in a vacant apartment. Q47 reported fire from the second floor A-B corner. Crews helped with fire attack, search, ventilation and investigation.

9-9-10- Units were dispatched for reported structure fire, smoke coming from the house. On scene found working fire in the kitchen area of the home. Crew from E89 stretched a 2" line to the side door which lead directly to the kitchen area where the fire was knocked down.

9-1-10- Rescue and Medic 89 responded for an MVA with wires down. Crews found 1 car with heavy front end damage sitting on top of landscaping rocks. There was also a pole and wires down. M89 transported and R89 remained on scene for Duke to arrive.

5-9-2010E89 dispatched into Golf Manor for reported structure fire. On scene crews helped with extinguishment, overhaul, and ventilation.

1-28-2010- At 16:09 E89 was dispatched with others on a 2nd alarm into the City of Reading for a fully involved structure fire. On scene E89 brought in second water supply from Reading Rd and deployed two 2'' lines and one 2 1/2'' line. 8901 helped with operations and 8902 had accountability. Units operated on scene for over 3 hours.

1-17-2010- At 19:00 hours EMS units were dispatched for psych patient, person tearing up their house. As units were staging police were dealing with a male subject with a knife in the upstairs of the residence. Due to the confined quarters police called in the SWAT team. They soon noticed smoke coming from the upstairs of the house. At 19:32 fire units were dispatch for a working structure fire. A plan was put together for the safety of the crews and two 2'' lines were taken to the 2 floor in search of the fire and subject. Fire was found in the knee wall area of the attic. The subject was later found in a closet and taken into custody by police.
